Armstrongists are not of the hook, neither are the religious right!
While Gavin Rumney, Gary Scott and to some extent myself keep watch on the fanaticism and cultism of the Armstrongite Churches of God, here is a blog that keeps watch on the excesses and fanaticism of the religious right. Read and enjoy at http://www.evangelicalright.com/ .
Hi Felix - I like the new look. Not that the old one was bad, it just didn't render properly in Firefox. This new one works perfectly in both Firefox and IE. I also think this new one is easier on the eyes.
Evangelicals, like the COG's and so many other things in the world are a mixed bag. Yeah, there are some real nut jobs and some major league hypocrites out there. But I think most of them are decent people trying their best to do the right thing as they understand it.
I also think the liberal media's hyperventilating about "the Christian Right" is much ado about nothing. Frankly, I don't think there is any such animal - at least not as it's portrayed in the media.
This fictitious "Christian Right" is portrayed as a vast, united conspiracy of Christian groups dedicated to imposing theocracy on the US, if not the whole world.
The reality is these groups are very diverse and often deeply divided amongst themselves. The majority may be conservative and/or Republican politically, but that is by no means universal.
Honestly, I think the "Christian Right" is a straw man, invented for the purpose of bashing Republicans and conservatives. It's a political snipe hunt.

Thanks for the compliments on the new design. That is one of the reasons why I changed it because of the concerns you and Gavin brought up. I'm glad you like what I have now, I hope to have this design for a long while.
About the religious right, I have been told that I should not paint evangelical conservatives with one brush. With saying that, they are some elements within that movement that I am not uncomfortable with even scared and I cannot simply brush that aside. There are some "responsible" conservative Christians like David Kuo who make a lot of sense. I hope to see more of his ilk soon.

Speaking of the referenced site, all should take note of a link there:

The Left Behind Video Game, where you can choose to be the anti Christ if you choose, or maybe a foot soldier fighting the war either for or against the good guys.
It was just in time for XMass 2006. The kids get up, go to the Christmas Tree, unwrap their presents, go have Christmas breakfast and then spend the rest of the day vicariously blowing away other human beings in the name of God in the time after the rapture!
Next to Stephan Baldwin starting his own evangelistic church and being spiritual adviser to President Bush [hey, he saved us from the moon being split in half this past weekend!], killing and murder as a pastime of religious video games has to be... um... hey, I'm at a loss for words!
