Another hell-raising liberal evangelical on the rise!
Here is a thought provoking article from Jay Bakker on CNN.com, son of Jim and Tammy, whose also followed in his parents footsteps but in a very uncoventional way. His ministry is Revolution Church (www.revolutionchurch.com) and he pastors the New York City church. The article is co-written with Marc Brown and it is called "What the Hell Happened to Christianity" and you log on to http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/12/13/bakker.brown.commentary/index.html. Also, please pray for him and his mother, Tammy (Faye Messner) as she is gravely ill battling cancer at 68 lbs.
Here is also the promotion of the documentary that involves Jay called, One Punk Under God, courtesy Youtube.com.
It is a very sad commentary when an "Evangelist" won't even talk to his son for over a year -- won't even call back.
It's also sad that the son is stuck in a twilight zone of not quite dad's religion, but still following a pattern of sorts.
Heritage USA failed, dad went to prison and the son is just seeking a validation which will never come.
Except for the prison part, this story has played out before and is very familiar to those of us from the Herbert Armstrong WCG years. Nothing new. Same old stuff. Different names and faces.
