Sick!!!

FYI Again pointed out that I was rather very passionate and extremely dogmatic in my remarks in my other post that Armstrongism was one of the wickedest religions of mankind. Maybe I was a "little" over the top but I do believe that most of the XCG splinters are EVIL and they need to be resisted and fought vigourously at ALL costs but this video I am about to show you from Fred Phelps' anti-gay (and proud of it) church by the name of Westboro Baptist Church has a new video called, "God Hates The World" truly takes the cake! This guy makes Rod Meredith look like the more "moderate" Billy Graham!!! Somebody show this man John 3:16 but probably it doesn't exists in this man's warped mind. Make sure you see the ending of this video and you will definately say to yourself, "Is this child abuse or what???"
If any "fundagelical" (with apologies to Gavin Rumney) wants to complain about videos on MTV, this is one of the sickest music videos, ever. Sad, it had to be religious.

FYI AGAIN's take on the future of Rod and the LCG

LCG is toast

Whether it happens next week, next year, or the year after, it's been obvious to me for some time that LCG is headed for a complete breakdown. Many long time, loyal members have already left, either for one of the other COG groups or dropped out of the COG's altogether. Much of the growth that RCG's David Pack loves to boast about has come at the expense of LCG.And yet LCG's leaders and their proxies on the web continue to act as though all is well and nothing is amiss. To the degree they acknowledge any problem at all, it's always attributed to just a few disgruntled members who are in a "malaise" (another word for "bad attitude").I don't see how Rod Meredith can continue to hold to the delusion that God is somehow working with, even focusing His attention on his pathetic and steadily shrinking "work". By no stretch of the imagination are the fruits of the Spirit evident in anything they are doing - let alone the "gifts of the Spirit" which they've been praying and fasting for over the past few years. There is indeed a malaise in LCG, but it starts at the top and works its way down. Rod Meredith should be taking Jesus advice and look to the beam in his own eye first.
My response:
You hit the nail again FYI Again! Like the rest of us, we eagerly hope it is VERY soon. Even a year or even two years to wait for the LCG's demise is a wee long.
Isn't it amazing that Herbert W. Armstrong found Rod Meredith repellent? Here's a letter written in 1980 discussing this at: http://www.servantsnews.com/PDF/merlet01.pdf

More UCG stupidity

Richard Burkard, a United Church of God member is waaay more long suffering than Alice Kramden of the Honeymooners (Gen Yers, I am talking about the '50's TV series---not the 2000's movie!) , I think it's time that Richard not feel guilty about losing his patience with the continual stupidity that still exists in the UCG. What I am I talking about? I will let Richard speak for himself:

You'll be pleased to know the United Church of God declares itself NOT guilty of "legalism." And to prove it, here's a partial list of all the things I've heard my UCG Pastor oppose in recent years:
1. eHarmony.com -- "God doesn't work that way."
2. Roller coasters. They're dangerous, and might tempt God.
3. Poems in sermons/sermonettes. This one was declared out of order just last weekend.
4. Pirate Master, the CBS summer reality series. Its promos promoted lying and stealing so much, it was condemned even before its premiere.
5. Bank of America. The Pastor said a boycott would be in order, after it announced plans to allow immigrants to get bank services without Social Security numbers.
6. Politicians in Armani outfits. He seemed to condemn Nancy Pelosi for wearing Armani on TV, after the November 2006 national election.
7. The city of Atlanta. Because it has not repented of its sins, the Southeast is in a major drought in 2007.
This same Pastor opposed the following things during his years in WCG, and to this point I have not heard them revoked in UCG:
1. The Simpsons. It tears down the family.
2. Children appearing in TV commercials -- for violating the "fires of Molech" principle.
That's all I can think of for the moment -- but I'll add to the list as things come to mind. Here's hoping you heed all these warnings, and walk humbly before God.

Editors note (in two words): Yeah right! UCG minister: GROW THE HECK UP!!!! (actually 8 words but whooose counting!)

A tale of legalism in a non-Armstrongist Sabbatarian church

I have found another interesting article posted on the website "Delivered" which discusses and critiques the excesses in charismatic and Pentecostal denominations. This one particular article called "Life in a Hebrew Pentecostal Holiness Church". You maybe familiar with it's alternative name "The House of God"---which late great soul singer Marvin Gaye came from. The author of the article has her name withheld and is an African American woman who had her beginnings in studying the historic WCG and CGI literature and eventually ended up with the Hebrew Pentecostals. Those who were in the historic WCG and/or splinters will realize that some of the things in that church sound waaay to all too familiar. Thankfully, the author has found peace of mind from the legalism and authoritarianism produced in The House of God and now attends a Lutheran church with her husband. Blessings to both.
